by Jason Farley (Foreword by), Joffre Swait (Author)

How might I quit treating people as objects? How might I, instead, begin to use the objects in my life to connect with the people around me? You could do worse than beginning with this collection of poetry. There is a balanced, yet enthusiastic embrace of the world that Swait finds at hand. With a fanatic eagerness in the enjoyment of wife, hearth, guest, and table, Joffre is a competent guide in the embrace of the world God made.

-- Jason Farley, From the Foreword

Joffre, ever jocund, is a poet of pure manners and sound learning, attentive to all the blessings of this life. When he rhymes I hear --perhaps not the music of the spheres, but at least its tuning.

-- Remy Wilkins, Author of Strays

Author Biography

Joffre Swait is very tall, pretty dark, and kind of handsome. He lives in the upcountry of South Carolina with his wife and five children, in a modest house with a beautiful garden. He makes his living teaching Spanish, Portuguese, and English as a second language. He is more ambivalent about the Norman invasion than Tolkien was. He is co-author of Christian Pipe-Smoking: An Introduction to Holy Incense with Uri Brito.

Joffre is around the social media as Joffre The Giant. He can be found on YouTube at www.youtube.com/joffrethegiant and blogs at www.joffrethegiant.blogspot.com.
