Author Biography

Howard Gee was born and educated in Edinburgh and has worked, travelled and lived throughout Europe and the Far East with his family. Howard is married to Carmine and they have two children and four grandchildren. They live in the shadows of the Wallace Monument near Stirling and the magnificent Ochil Hills. Whilst serving in the Scots Guards, Howard was selected into the Army Physical Training Corps. He was involved on active service with the Brigade of Gurkhas in Borneo and with other regiments throughout troubled areas of the world. He served in all Non Commissioned Ranks including Regimental Sergeant Major and was commissioned into the APTC in 1980. He is now retired and writing his memoirs. The first of which is titled 'We Were Only Bairns' covers his early years growing up in Edinburgh, with the follow up book 'Boots and Bearskins' is his story of army life as a new recruit in the Scots Guards.
