He has been honored as Outstanding Acting Coach by the American College Theatre Festival. His core beliefs on actor training are summarized in the essay "Creative Acting" in Creativity in Theatre. All Robert's works seek to find ways to intersect and mutually benefit our acting and our lives.

Rocco Dal Vera was Head of the Division for Acting, Arts Administration, Dance, Musical Theatre, Opera and Theatre Design and Production at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, specializing in theatre voice and speech with particular interest in voice and emotion.
