Author Biography

The author, Julian Broadhead, was the co-founder and editor of Prison Writing journal from 1992-2002. A probation officer for almost twenty-five years, he has been a regular contributor to the New Law Journal since 1992 and has also written for The Times. In 2002 he was awarded a Cropwood Fellowship at the Institute of Criminology, Cambridge University, where he began the research that led to Unlocking The Prison Muse.
