by Warren III Kent (Author)

EJ Kent hates baseball. His father loves it. Nothing can bring the two together - until the 1984 Detroit Tigers. When the spring of 1984 rolls around, EJ decides to give up the sport that his father not only enjoys but also coaches. But then, April 7, 1984, happens. EJ and his father watch as Detroit Tiger ace Jack Morris, in front of a national TV audience, tosses a no-hitter igniting something, not only inside of the '84 Tigers but something inside of EJ too. The 11-year-old decides to give baseball one last chance. Through his Little League season and the Tigers magical 1984 season, EJ learns to love the sport and grow closer to his father. This story, told from the perspective of EJ, intertwines his and his father's growing closer because of baseball and the Tigers ascension to the dominant MLB team in 1984.
