To Sleep, Perchance to Dream - Paperback

by Russell Gerney (Author)

Haunted by war and hardened by a past he can't outrun, former Army sniper Stephen Jackson is trying to rebuild a life of quiet sobriety with his wife, LaKeisha. But peace is short-lived. When an old friend begs for help rescuing a kidnapped girl from a brutal cartel leader, Stephen is pulled back into the shadows-first to Mexico, then into a secret mission in Syria.

There, a single act of violence-saving a woman from an assault-sets off a deadly chain of events. Back on U.S. soil, while trying to enjoy a weekend with LaKeisha in a desolate California ghost town, Stephen is hunted by a vengeful man with nothing to lose.

As a recurring, all-too-real dream haunts his sleep, Stephen must rely on instinct, skill, and a fragile moral compass. Can he protect the life he's fought to reclaim-or will his past finally catch up to him?
