In another place, Joel, a young Aboriginal boy bent on playing football, is dissatisfied with his life and determines to take every step forward through school and university. He becomes a lawyer and escapes the city to fulfil his ambitions for his people in a more relevant area. His role model is his Uncle Charlie.

Meanwhile, a South American man, Alvaro, has settled in Australia with an Australian wife and two children, and returns from a recent visit to his homeland disturbed by his loves and loyalties in his present life and the past. His wife seeks to help him resolve his uncertainties.

By chance, these assorted characters meet up and experience harmony through their meeting.
