The author recommends a people-centred strategy that will focus on the needs of citizens such as access to good education and healthcare as well as a system that ensures equity, fairness and justice for all.

Amaechi Anakwue has been a broadcast journalist with global exposure for over two decades. He holds a PhD in political economy with research interest on development issues. He is the author of The Politics of Economic Regulation in Nigeria (2019) and has also contributed to several peer-reviewed international journals.
