The poems are written on the high desert landscapes of Santa Fe, New Mexico from the depth of arroyos to the heat of horse stables and the visions of past spirits of peering around the sage brush. Letting the voices of the Living and Unhuman Nations whispering to her, Gallegos writes in an ancient worship for the mystic verses she hears on the landscape, animals, plants and waters.
