What if when we die our story does not end but simply shifts to another stage in another time and place? This book describes the journeys of two individuals through three shared lifetimes in which they are born together as twins - in ancient Africa, in medieval Europe, and in Nazi Germany. What does it mean to be a woman? What does it mean to be a man? And how can these two ways of being be brought into balance in ourselves and in our society?
