ABOUT THE BOOK
Academic literature has historically provided reasons why African-American entrepreneurs failed in business. Minimal research evidence existed on successful African American entrepreneurs' proven business characteristics, traits, and practices. There are African-American entrepreneurs who have established successful businesses despite centuries of discrimination that led to the social impacts of access to capital, limited business experience, and entrepreneurial knowledge.
Dr. Edward L. Wiggins, III, is a retired veteran with over 21 years in the U.S. Army as a Communication, Electronic, and Signals Intelligence Expert. He has facilitated curriculum for various universities as a professor teaching Information Technology, Project Management, Information Systems, and business courses. Dr. Wiggins currently serves as a Strategic Business Advisor supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Federal Government, and corporate industry in the areas of Portfolio/Program Management. Dr. Wiggins has a Doctor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management, a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Acquisition and Procurement, and a Bachelor of Science in Management Computer Information Systems. He enjoys vintage automotive restoration, woodwork, skiing, golf, reading, listening to jazz music, and spending time with family.
