The Holy Vessels and Furniture of the Tabernacle: A Study in Biblical Typology

Unlock the rich, prophetic imagery of Exodus and discover how every detail of the Wilderness Tabernacle beautifully reveals the person, character, and saving work of Jesus Christ.

To the casual reader, the extensive instructions given to Moses regarding the construction of the Wilderness Tabernacle can seem like dry, repetitive history. But to the student of Scripture, these pages contain a brilliant, divinely designed portrait gallery. Every board, curtain, loop, and gold vessel was explicitly engineered by God to serve as a precise shadow and type of His Son.

In The Holy Vessels and Furniture of the Tabernacle, classic theologian Henry W. Soltau delivers what has long been considered one of the most accurate, reliable, and spiritually profound expositions of the Tabernacle contents ever written. Free from wild speculation or over-spiritualized fantasies, Soltau grounds his work firmly in literal scriptural data, carefully analyzing the text with the reverence of a master craftsman.

Why This Typological Masterpiece Belongs in Your Library:
  • Flawless Scriptural Accuracy: Regarded by scholars and pastors as the definitive guide for a correct delineation of the Tabernacle's internal structures.

  • Christ-Centered Devotion: Move past abstract architectural dimensions and learn how the Ark, the Candlestick, and the Table of Shewbread uniquely manifest the grace, priesthood, and mediation of Christ.

  • Deeply Practical Application: Soltau masterfully bridges the gap between Old Testament ritual and the modern believer's daily walk, offering rich insights into spiritual worship, communion with God, and security in Christ.

  • A Indispensable Reference Work: Perfectly organized by vessel, making it an elite companion text for preaching through Exodus, leading deep-dive Bible studies, or elevating your personal quiet time.

Inside This Definitive Guide, You Will Explore:
  • The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat: The ultimate type of Christ's perfect righteousness, propitiation, and the foundation of God's throne of grace.

  • The Table of Shewbread and the Golden Candlestick: Beautiful pictures of Christ as the sustaining bread of life and the divine light of His Church.

  • The Altar of Incense: Unpacking the perpetual fragrance of our great High Priest's intercession on our behalf.

  • The Brazen Altar and the Laver: Understanding the legal foundation of substitutionary sacrifice and the ongoing cleansing power of the Word.
