Author Biography

Michael D. Fluker is a business executive, entrepreneur, philanthropist, motivational speaker and author of The Growing of You, a book that teaches how to look beyond the adversity and understand that each of us faces challenges in life, but those who overcome grow. With nothing more than hope and a prayer, Fluker moved to the Southwest Florida area with $100 in his pocket and a mountain of consumer debt, no job, and no place to live. Using the principles and insight contained within The Growing of You, he was able to discover his power, overcome obstacles, unleash his potential and reach his purpose. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from St. Leo University, Fluker is a Financial Planner and provides a wide services including seminars and workshops on motivation, fiscal responsibility and effective financial management to low- and middle-income families and individuals, including retirees, single parents, students, and the working poor. Fluker has received numerous accolades for his work in the Sarasota community and has served on several not-for profit boards in southwest Florida. When he is not involved in speaking engagements or workshops, Fluker takes an active role in supporting the local community through his work helping people with disabilities to live independently. He currently lives in Sarasota, Florida with his wife, Julie.
