by Jeff R. Babineaux (Author)
A teen gamer leaves her old life behind to start college in a new town. Fantasy blends with reality as she weaves tales that help her deal with the stress of new situations, as well as teaching others what it means to play by their own rules. What are you doing this weekend? Droves of people sit in huddled groups. They gorge on junk food, beer and more, just to roll funny shaped dice and howl in the agony and ecstasy of randomized group storytelling. Caro is one such member of the tabletop RPG community, except she's venturing off to college now. New city, new people, and she suspects her freshman workload will drown her before she can find a new family that loves the game the way she does.
Author Biography
Jeff Babineaux grew up in southern Louisiana where Cajun culture takes great pride in folklore and the ability to pass these tales along. This love inspires narratives rich in the assertion that everyone has a story, and should be afforded the platform to share it. Jeff's goal as a literary guide is to introduce worlds and characters that are relatable and yet live outside of rules that convince us to keep quiet and color in the lines. When he isn't taking his turn as game master at the table, Jeff enjoys improvising recipes in the kitchen, wooing the woman of his dreams, and pursuing a career in electrical engineering.
