The Faithful - Paperback

by Don MacDonald (Author)

A Hutterite is murdered and two worlds collide

When a young Hutterite man is found murdered in a luxurious home in the city, Detective Michael Shelter is pulled into a case like none other. To find the killer, Shelter must win the trust of a rural Hutterite colony where the faithful live apart from the outside world, following a devout way of life passed down for 500 years.

How could a leader of a strictly pacifist farming community end up murdered in an expensive rental? Does the answer lie in the city? Is it linked to a bitter land dispute that's entangled the Hutterites? Or is the killer hiding among the members of the colony itself?

Struggling to solve this baffling case, Shelter must also contend with a crumbling relationship and the haunting aftermath of a deadly shooting. As he uncovers secrets and closes in on the killer, danger grows under the vast prairie sky.
