Not only dogs and cats communicated, but sometimes the tales were whispered by those whom you might not suspect of being high on the list of master communicators, like ants.

Ms. Goodwin has met all the animals in these pages. Throughout this book, she is simply the listener and the translator of the stories which have been whispered to her.
