Author Biography

Alan Taylor is professor of history at the University of California at Davis, and the author of William Cooper's Town: Power and Persuasion on the Frontier of the Early American Republic (1996), which won the Pulitzer Prize for American History. His most recent book is The Civil War of 1812: American Citizens, British Subjects, Indian Allies and Irish Rebels (2010).
