Solar Music records journeys into Spain, Mexico, and Morocco, prompted in part, by my love of the expatriate writer and composer, Paul Bowles who wrote about all three countries; the poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, whose play, YERMA, Bowles wrote the libretto for the American premier; and the painter, Remedios Varo, whose wonderful surrealistic paintings evoke women as heroines of their own journeys.
