by James D. Heiser (Foreword by), Nicolaus Hunnius (Author)
In his Short Instruction on True Christianity (1637), Nicolaus Hunnius (1585-1643) provides a wonderful resource for the instruction of catechumens. Hunnius offers a tripartite explanation the Christianity: "(1) In Christian faith, (2) in a godly life, and (3) in a blessed death." Teaching Christian doctrine is connected with the godly life which is the fruit of faith, and it is a life which is prepares for a blessed death. As the Christian faith is unchanging, so the substance of the Christian life is unchanging, and the need for Hunnius' Short Instruction on True Christianity is as great as when it was first written.
