Sam Rivers – Dimensions Extensions (LP Vinyl) Vinyl Record

Sam Rivers occupied a singular position in the jazz avant-garde, a Boston-bred multi-instrumentalist who could move between hard bop and free jazz with unsettling ease. His 1967 Blue Note session *Dimensions & Extensions* captured that restless intelligence at full stretch, with a large ensemble that gave his compositional vision real room to breathe. Joe Blue Note's Tone Poet reissue series brings it back on audiophile vinyl, the way music this uncompromising deserves to be heard.
