by Katherine Starbird (Author)
A captivating tale of Norse Gods, sea witches and a hero in denial.
Young Elof, a descendant of Norse gods, is retracing his father's voyage around the world in a magical wooden yawl, trying to make sense of why his father abandoned the family. When charming Reenie Gyse, an aging denizen of a city marina, draws Elof from his course, he's in danger not only of failing to come to grips with his heritage, but of losing his identity entirely.
A novella from award-winning author Katherine Starbird.
An eerie, tantalizing story reminiscent of The Odyssey
The surprise ending made me laugh out loud. A must read!
Author Biography
Katherine Starbird is an award-winning American author of fiction, born and raised in coastal Florida. A life-long fascination with religious and mystical beliefs, folk tales, legends, and romanticism combine in her work as a blend of fantasy and realism. Kate spent much of her childhood on and around the water. On the flats off Pinellas Point in her hometown of St. Petersburg, she collected shells and hunted sea critters. On vacations and weekends, the family sailed their yawl in Tampa Bay and to far off destinations. Adventuring on the water gave Kate ample time to dream up fantastical stories. Not surprisingly, many were about young people and the ocean. Kate lives with her husband and children in Longwood, Florida. She still enjoys dreaming up stories. Now she writes them into novels so others can join her adventure.
