This book is nothing more than a compilation of my own outpouring of emotion through the written word. It is a chronicle of my grief process as manifested through blog and journal entries during the first year and a half of my widowhood. It is a raw and mostly unedited look into the emotional world of sudden and unexpected grief. It is an exploration of my journey through grief and recovery, finding myself again, rebuilding a new life for me and my kids, and hopefully finding love and happiness along the way. It has been published as a testament to what I have endured, survived, and overcome after being widowed at the age of 29, and left with 10 month old twins to raise alone. It is for my daughters, and them alone, that I have chosen to so publicly bare my soul in the hopes that one day they may be able to understand who I was, and who I have become. Perhaps you too will find comfort, validation, or insipriation through my words....

Author Biography

Brooke Simmons currently resides in the Hill Country of central Texas. She continues to raise the twins with the loving support of her close family and friends. She is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology by trade and a writer by accident. Writing about her grief after she was widowed at the age of 29 became a source of cathartic release for her and she soon developed an online following through her blog.
