by Yifeng Yang (Author)

This beautiful book tells the story of one man's efforts to fight poverty in some of China's most impoverished regions. It charts the personal experience of Yang Yifeng--an editor-in-chief and reporter for the People's Daily--who spent several years working on the front line as a poverty alleviation cadre, going into 20 towns and 199 administrative villages. Along the way, he wrote a moving, interesting, useful, and philosophical account of his personal experiences and practical work, with words that come straight from the heart.
