by Eric Pinder (Author), T. Brian R. Walsh (Illustrator)

Nimbus T. Cat lives with the scientists who work and study at Mount Washington's famous Observatory. But what's a curious cat to do when everyone around him is busy? Go for a hike of course!

Join Nimbus in the beautiful White Mountains as he hikes his way through the autumn fog, skitters to safety on the winter ice, battles through the blustery spring, and finds refuge at the Observatory during a summer thunderstorm. When he's done exploring, you can find him greeting visitors and admiring the view.

Author Biography

Eric Pinder is the author of If All the Animals Came Inside, How to Share with a Bear, North to Katahdin, and other books for all ages about wilderness, wildlife, and weather. An avid hiker, Eric once worked for seven years at the Mount Washington Observatory, on the windswept summit of New England's highest peak. His experiences there inspired his first book for children, Cat in the Clouds. Today, Eric teaches in New Hampshire at a small college in the woods, and often visits schools and libraries to share stories about books, mountains, and animals.

T. B. R. Walsh studied art in Italy while at university and taught architectural drawing and art history for nine years before moving into the world of book illustration. He has illustrated more than a dozen books, mostly for grown-ups, and has been a regular contributing illustrator to the magazine Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors since 2007. Nimbus Takes a Hike is the third children's book he has illustrated.
