From film composer to photographer: Mario Schneider's street photography

Mario Schneider has made a name for himself as a director and film composer far beyond the borders of Germany. In his photobook, New York Short Stories, which features both color and black-and-white images from 2023 to 2025, he impressively demonstrates that street photography is also one of his talents. Mario Schneider's photographs reflect the perspective of a filmmaker and storyteller. In his images, he presents a different, quieter New York, where the hustle and bustle of the city recedes and interpersonal encounters come to the fore. Against the backdrop of this breathtaking city, Schneider captures moments that last only a fraction of a second. Author Biography

Mario Schneider (b. 1970) is a German author, director, photographer, and film composer who is based in Halle, Germany. He is working as a composer for national and international movies since 1998.
