by Michael J. Rogers (Author)

"The dynamic relationship of emerging popular piety and developing doctrine, in both its promise and peril, provides us with possibilities for thinking about how different cultures across the world already contribute to the Church, as they have down the ages." --From the Introduction

Many Paths with Mary brings readers on an international journey, exploring how Mary, Mother of God, comes to be understood in different times and places: including 16th century Copacabana, Boliva, and Tepeyac, Mexico, 19th century Lourdes, France, and even more recently in Mexico. Michael J. Rogers explicates some of the many ways that the Holy Spirit speaks through the people of God when popular piety emerges in the meeting of distinct cultures, through moments of meaning, and amid ruptures in society. By demonstrating how popular piety can facilitate mutual understand and spiritual renewal, Rogers puts forth vital insights for forging a truly synodal Church, one that is able to "walk together" in the Spirit's stirring call to all peoples, everywhere.
