Ghulam Ali was one of the rare visionaries who attempted to reach the object by a rocket in the 1820s. But both missions ended with fatal results. After repeated failures, Ghulam Ali became a recluse on the ocean platform called the Babylon Project.

Fifty years later, a Chairman of the Association of Ishtar travels to his Island with an armed delegation of elite soldiers known as The Airborn Dragoons. What could she want of the disgraced visionary?

The Association is a clandestine organization investigating anomalies called Rifts - portals to other worlds. Most are harmless, but some lead to planes containing more advanced human civilizations or alien lifeforms.
