Born and raised in Oakland, California, April Wakefield-Spikener began writing poetry as a young child as a way to express herself. She dreamed of someday becoming a famous poet... A day when people would fall in love with her way of thinking and writing. A self-proclaimed "Lover of Love," she writes from the heart, often capturing feelings most people don't discuss openly.
