I Was a Therapist is a story about a therapist who had several cases that involved attempted murder, child abuse, and partner torture. The attempted murder case occurred at the end of an hour-long session when the mother of the client was waiting outside my office. The mother of my client was there to shoot her son's new girlfriend, who sat in for a therapy session. There were many child abuse cases, and the one I described is about a little girl who hardly knew what life was about, except for regular beatings. This case involved marital torture, which was about a violent man who kept his beautiful wife on a short leash, and if she tried to get a little freedom, he would beat her until she was black and blue with broken arms and a fractured cervical spine from holding a chokehold too long. This wife would not lose her spirit and tried to carefully plan her escape even though she failed several times. These cases have physical and emotional abuse in common and would need a whole new beginning. This is never easy for anyone because clients are afraid of what is on the other side.
