The book presents the architectural feautures of 19 medieval citadels and 154 villages in the nomoi of Achaia and Eleia, and a few in northern Messenia and western Arcadia. The material is accompanied by five articles introducing the history of the northwest Peloponnesos (Morea) and summarizing its architectural characteristics. Also included are over 500 illustrations and seven detailed maps showing possible itineraries for actually visiting the locations discussed.
