HEELS ON STEEL is the story of one woman's search for identity in a modern African society. Her feminist ideals put her in conflict with traditions and customs, leaving her torn between living as an independent and free 'woman of the times' and finding fulfillment in marriage, while in a constant power struggle with her husband, and the society. Would her search make her the powerful woman she seeks to be - a woman with heels on steel?

Author Biography

OPE DARA is a Nigerian writer born in Oka-Akoko, Ondo state. Dara, whose writings cuts across poetry, prose, and drama, describes herself as a literati who appreciates the polymorphous forms in which language attains. Dara is presently an undergraduate student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. She has published two books - HEELS ON STEEL (a play) and LET ME RUN MAD TODAY (poetry).
