Dieses Arbeitsheft hebt sich von anderen Einführungen in die Übersetzungswissenschaft in folgenden Punkten ab: Es ist sprachbezogen und es konzentriert sich auf ausgewählte Grundlagen (Übersetzungsgeschichte; theoretische Grundfragen; linguistische Übersetzungsprobleme). Für die zweite Auflage wurden - neben bibliographischen Aktualisierungen - mehrere Erweiterungen vorgenommen (u.a. Translationsethik, korpusbasierte Translationswissenschaft).
