After months of planning Stephanie climbed out of her mother's VW Bug and waved good-bye. This hike was supposed to be her last hurrah before beginning her teaching career. But the stack of rejection letters on the kitchen table meant that her summer-long hike on the Pacific Crest Trail would be nothing more than an escape route. She would much rather spend the summer reclaiming her confidence than facing her future.

Corey didn't plan on hiking all summer, but since his stupid twin brother ditched him to go to Europe, he figured it was better than helping his parents pack up his beloved childhood home. Hiking the PCT would be the perfect challenge to prove to everyone, maybe himself especially, that he could handle being perfectly alone.

Except he isn't alone. This petite blonde keeps showing up at every campground, each turn of the trail. They try to avoid each other for hundreds of miles, but in the end, one impulsive choice brings them together. At the end of the trail they'll have to go their separate ways, so maybe all they have is now. Or maybe, fate has more in store for them than either of them could guess.
