Author Biography

Ayatollah Sayed Mortadha al-Hussaini al-Shirazi hails from a long line of religious scholars, his father being the late religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayed Mohammad al-Hussaini al-Shirazi. He was born in 1964 in Karbala, Iraq and currently lives in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq. He teaches a number of higher level classes in Islamic Law, Legal Theory, and Qur'anic Exegesis at the Seminary of Najaf. He has over sixty books and publications in Islamic Law, Legal Theory, Qur'anic Sciences and Exegesis, Philosophy, Hermeneutics, History, and Islamic Beliefs.
