Author Biography

I. Vicente was born in New York City and lived in the South Bronx and Queens, eventually settling in East Elmhurst. After graduating from Newtown High School, he attended the City University of New York at Baruch College, where he studied journalism and was a reporter and features editor at Ticker, the college newspaper. Despite being raised in a family that did not encourage education, goal-setting, or planning for the future, I. Vicente developed a solid career in technology that spanned more than twenty years, and he is the founder and CEO of GCS, a software consulting company that has consulted for many Fortune 500 companies. He now lives in New Jersey with his beautiful wife and two daughters, two unconditionally loving dogs, and his calming 90-gallon reef tank. His first book, The Courage to Be Different, is a memoir of his childhood, and Divergent Lives is the story of his complex relationship with his brother. I. Vicente has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Latin America, and the U.S. and plans to write about his many travel experiences in future books.
