Author Biography

Mel McKinney is a former trial attorney, lifelong outdoorsman, fly fisherman and duck hunter.

He wrote Dead Duck as a response to the Enron debacle that unfolded and raised natural gas prices in California some years ago and as a commentary on ethical choices by those who pursue life outdoors.

McKinney lives in Little River, California, with his wife, Susan and their black lab, Samantha. He is the author of several short stories, essays, and screenplays. His first novel, Where There's Smoke, was published by St. Martin's Press in 1999.
