by Jefrey D. Breshears (Author)

Critical race theory is a derivative of critical theory, a neo-Marxist ideology developed in the 1920s and '30s that launched a systemic and comprehensive assault on the philosophical, moral, religious and institutional foundations of Western civilization. The strategic goal of critical theory was "cultural hegemony" - a relentless campaign to seize the "commanding heights" of the culture in Europe and America.

Critical race theory is the antithesis of the mainstream Civil Rights Movement of the mid-20th century in which the stated principle was that people should be judged as individuals on the basis of the "content of their character" rather than the color of their skin. In contrast, CRT is obsessed with defining and judging people primarily (or exclusively) on the basis of their race. In that respect, it could more accurately be labeled "critical racist theory" as it constitutes the most perverse obsession with race and identity politics since the dominance of the Ku Klux Klan in the American South or the triumph of Nazism in Germany.
