Baby, This is a High-Priced Country: Stories - Paperback

by Chris Stuck (Author)

In his second work of fiction, Chris Stuck concocts a potent collection of twelve wildly inventive stories that explore race and white supremacy, love and war, and the predicament of being a person of color in America. From a Black man living in The Whitest City in America unwittingly befriending a diversity robot, to the oldest employee at White Supremacy Incorporated pondering retirement just as the company goes public, to a film crew trying to complete a doomed production called Racism: The Movie, to two lovelorn aliens assessing America only to find it has the same problems as their planet. Stuck's stories showcase extraordinary depth and rich imagination, slyly fusing humor, satire, absurdism, and realism into a powerful, original work of fiction that can only be described as American as fuck.
