Alexandria City Directory, 1791 - Paperback

The Alexandria Library presents to its patrons a city directory for the year 1791 which is based on a record made by George Deneale and presented to Dennis Ramsay on 28 February 1791 of the tax returns on houses and lots in the city of Alexandria. The Directory is divided into three parts. The first is an alphabetical arrangement of all the names listed in the record with the information concerning the street location of the property and the ownership of the property placed next to the name. The second part is a listing of the residents by street. Refer to the first part to determine whether the resident was an owner or an occupier. The third part is a listing by occupation. This information was pulled from census reports of 1794-1797.
