by Alexander Von Reiswitz (Photographer), Nadine Barth (Editor), Bernhard Kleeberg (Text by (Art/Photo Books))

Deriving fictional family narratives from posed groups of strangers, von Reiswitz produces remarkable snapshots that capture the role of coincidence in our lives

Over 15 years, Berlin-based Spanish photographer Alexander von Reiswitz (born 1965) captured randomly selected people as fictional families in staged portraits. Authors then created stories based on the photographs, inventing imaginary familial relationships and destinies for the portrayed individuals.
