Author Biography
As a child Joyce P. Smith lived on a farm in Tempe, Arizona, amidst cotton and corn fields. Jackrabbits, scorpions, rattlesnakes, saguaro and cholla cacti (called jumping cactus) were common occurrences. Joyce grew up in a family that did things together. Her dad made homemade ice cream every Sunday and at every family and friends gathering and it was THE BEST. Her dad and mom took the family picnicking; on trips to the lake; they played in the dry creek-beds (this is where Joyce discovered why they call cholla, jumping cactus); and she discovered the beauties of Arizona while hunting and camping regularly. Joyce and her husband have seven children and twenty-three grandchildren to date. She enjoys ice cream, family gatherings, creating stories, oil painting, swimming, going for walks and she especially loves camping. Look for other books by Joyce P.
