Author Biography

Kevin McCarthy taught for two years in Turkey as a Peace Corps Volunteer, one ear in Lebanon and two years in Saudi Arabia as a Fulbright Professor, and 37 years at the University of FLorida, where he taught courses in linguistics and writing. He has had 36 books published, including these by Pineapple Press: African American Sites in Florida, Twenty Florida Pirates, Thirty Florida Shipwrecks, Native Americans in Florida, and Apalachicola Bay. He also published African Americans at the University of Florida (UF Sesquicentennial Committee, 2003). McCarthy currently lives in Gainesville, FL
