Based on the \u003cem\u003eKunstkammer\u003c\/em\u003e of Habsburg Emperor Rudolf II in Prague, who was the most important collector of \u003cem\u003enaturalia, artificialia\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003escientifica\u003c\/em\u003e around 1600, \u003cem\u003eKunstkammer\u003c\/em\u003e objects will also be considered as \u003cem\u003emagica\u003c\/em\u003e: artefacts to which a natural magical quality could be attributed due to their iconographic and material preparation or artistic craftsmanship. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eAuthor Biography\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCorinna Gannon, \u003c\/strong\u003e studied art history and English studies at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. 2018-2022, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Art History and was jointly responsible for the teaching, research and exhibition project \"Die Welt im BILDnis. Portraits, Sammler und Sammlungen in Frankfurt vom 16.-18. Jahrhundert\". She later realised the art and medical history research and book project \"Die Porträtsammlungen der Dr. Senckenbergischen Stiftung\". Since 2023, she has been working at the Städel Museum as an assistant curator in the Department of Dutch, Flemish and German Painting before 1800.
