Her brother was a pilot of a B-17 in WWII and she wrote a book titled, \"Letters From My Brother\" about growing up during that time. Her interest in the WASP program grew when she volunteered as a docent in the Lyon Air Museum near her home. When Beverly Beesemyer, a former WASP visited the museum, Nancy interviewed her about her experiences which led to the writing of this book - which include Beverly's illustrations. Nancy has written 70 books and over 900 short stories and articles - mostly for young adults.
