After the war, Kinny gave a few hand-bound copies to shipmates. He served aboard the USS Talbot DD114\/APD-7 before and during World War II in the Pacific, as Radioman Third Class, and eventually Radioman First Class. After the war, he was promoted to Chief and became a husband and a father.
