Along with her novel \u003cem\u003eSend My Roots Rain\u003c\/em\u003e (Aunt Lute Books, 1991), she has published many short stories in various journals such as\u003cem\u003e Voces: A Journal of Chicana\/Latina Studies\u003c\/em\u003e. Gómez-Vega received her Ph.D. from the University of Houston and has taught at various colleges in the Houston area.
